The group has predominantly been set up to promote the professional development of Gujarati teachers and support staff in the U.K. as well as to highlight the educational needs of Gujarati students.

UKGTA will be active in:

• Encouraging teaching as a profession within the Gujarati communities
• Supporting Gujarati teachers and support staff working in state schools in their professional development
• Encouraging and empowering parents in taking a positive role in the education of their children
• Encouraging members of the Gujarati Community to become school Governors
• Highlighting the educational needs of Gujarati students
• Promoting equal opportunities within education in the U.K.
