Welcome to establishment of Majors Group which is just a year in old and is learning to walk and is gathering speed. Our membership is improving.
In our first year we saw some significant changes in the Majors Group -
We identified a more permanent venue – The Scouts Hut at Les Atkinson Park Beenleigh Road Sunnybank Hills;
Arts and Craft activity was introduced with a lot of help from Nimuben Bakrania – this allowed our members to get involved in some innovative therapeutic activity and at the same time raised funds for the Group by selling off these hand made items at various functions – the Sunday afternoons went so fast;
Majors Group contributed to the GAQ functions with their cooking skills – our enthusiastic members under the direction of Sureshbhai Bhoola made themselves available to cook at various GAQ functions – very positive comments were received;
For the first time in GAQ’s history Majors Group enabled Navratri to be celebrated for all nine nights – enjoyed by all who attended.
Together we have achieved a lot and we acknowledge the help the younger members and the GAQ Committee have given to the Majors Group in making it a success. It is recognised that the future members of the Majors Group are younger members of today.
From here we are hoping to move on a step further by leasing or buying a permanent venue under the umbrella of GAQ.
Hope the New Year will bring more success and new ideas. We welcome any new ideas and the help from any member of the GAQ. We expect to work even more closely with GAQ and contribute wherever and however we can.
We meet on every third Sunday of the month, come rain or shine, we look forward to seeing you there.
God bless you all.
