Sagarkhedu Sammelan by Narendra Modi in Gir Somnath at Gujarat
Addressing the “Sagarkhedu Sammelan”, Shri Narendra Modi announced state government's approval to nine new fishing port/harbours in Gujarat State. Today on 13.08.2012, Chief Minister announced "Gir Somnath" will soon be a separate district, comprising of 6 talukas. So now “List of Districts in Gujarat” is 27.
Addressing a huge gathering of sagarkhedus at Somnath near the famous Jyotirlinga temple, Narendra Modi said the new district would come into being with effect from January 26, 2013. Gujarat to have a new district of Gir Somnath, to start working from Jan 26, 2013.
