Sursagar Lake in Vadodara - History of Sursagar Talav Vadodara

Sursagar Lake, previously known as ChandanTalao of Vadodara, situated in the mid of Vadodara city. Sursagar lake history is interesting; In the late 18th century it was Rebuilt with stone banks and masonry. You can see full water throughout the year in this Sursagar lake of Vadodara. Recently Vadodara Municipal Corporation has constructed a 120 ft tall statue of Lord Shiva in middle of the lake and Lord Shiva was shown in a standing posture. If Lake shows signs of overflow then there are several underground gates to empty water, this water goes to river Vishwamitri which flows through the Baroda. Even you can enjoy boating in lake with your soul mate or family/friends in this lake. It looks awfully particularly on full moon nights.
