History of Goa Carnival, This carnival cum festival was first started in Goa in the year 1961. It was initially celebrated by King Memo, one of the legendary Chaos kings of the state and is one of the Portuguese festivals. Since the state has experienced the reign of different Portuguese rulers for more than 500 years, this festival reflects some of the Portuguese lifestyle.
The Goa Carnival 2014 is one of the most anticipated events in Goa. It is unique to Goa and offers 4 days of fun and frolic with various events, float parades and dances happen all over the state. The main attraction of the Goan Carnival is the floats parade which is held in various cities on Goa.

Goa Carnival 2014 Venue
The floats parades will be held in the cities of Panaji, Margao, Mapusa and Vasco. The main Carnival floats parade typically kicks off from the capital city Panaji first and then on subsequent days is held in the other cities of Goa. The Panaji floats parade starts off from the Patto and then it moves through the whole city and at last it winds up at Campal.
Goa Carnival 2014 Details Carnaval Food & Cultural Festival starts on 28th February, 2014 at Panjim, The “Magson’s Chef-de-Goa Cooking Contest" is being held as a part of the Goa Carnaval Food and Cultural Festival, 2014. The opening Round of the contest which will be held at the Miramar Residency on 27th February,2014 at 4PM. The theme of the contest is "Authentic Goan Cuisine".
Goa Carnival 2014 March, the Final Round will be held on 2nd March, 2014 at the Goa Carnaval Food and Cultural Festival Venue (Merces Ground). The winners will be presented with a Magson's Gift Hamper along with many more exciting prizes. The Carnaval ends on 4th March, 2014.
