Blackbuck National Park Velavadar is very famous and wonderful in Gujarat. The best time to visit Velavadar National Park is from December to March as many type of wandering birds which includes three species of Harriers, Lesser Florican, Eagles, Waders and many other water birds appear to spend winter.

The park is closed for the monsoon from June to October, and the best time to visit is winter, from December to March, when you can catch the bird population at its greatest, and avoid the stifling summer heat. The fauna population of the park mostly includes Blackbucks, Wolves, Houbara bustard, Hyenas and Lesser Floricans, with foxes, jackals and Jungle Cats as the main carnivore’s type.

With a vehicle, you will be able to visit more sections of the park, but without one, you can still take nice hikes through the grasslands and even if you do have a vehicle, getting out and walking around is recommended. Other species include wild pigs, hares and rodents, typical of the savannah type grasslands and thorn scrubs.
