Anandiben Patel - New CM (Chief Minister) Of Gujarat from 24th May 2014
Anandiben Patel connected the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1987. She became a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly in 1998 and has been share the position ever since. Anandiben is the only woman contender to be elected as an MLA for four successive terms and is one of the best serving woman MLAs in Gujarat.
Gujarat Revenue Minister Anandiben was on Wednesday elected chief of the BJP Legislature Party and will do well Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi as Chief Minister of the State. A school teacher by line of work, she had left her job to join politics.
She is the first woman chief minister of Gujarat. The 73-year-old Ms. Patel’s name was proposed and agrees to generally at a meeting of the Legislature Party in the presence of Mr. Modi, who had instant earlier resigned as the Chief Minister.
