Tamanchay features the gorgeous Bollywood newcomer babe Richa Chadda as Babu while Nikhil Dwivedi is playing the character of Munna in this venture. All its sequences are being filmed at the various parts of Northern India.

The story of the movie is based on very controversial underworld love story of real life underworld couple Monica bedi and underworld don Abu Salem. It is the reason why both Nikhil and Richa required to act intimate in movie to fit in their underworld character which was the most difficult part of shooting as per the film crew. During the stop phase when the actress denied to shoot any close scenes with Nikhil, the director and the film cast used some explicit techniques to convince the actress and make shooting possible.
