Indian PM Narendra Modi to Visit Australia in November for G20 Summit 2014 at Brisbane
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to deliver a historic address to a joint sitting of federal Parliament when he visits Australia for the G20 summit in Brisbane in November. With this visit to Australia, PM Narendra Modi will become first Indian PM to visit Australia in nearly 3 decades after late Rajiv Gandhi.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Australia for the two days long G20 summit in Brisbane on November 15-16. After attending G20 summit, PM Modi will also join the Australian Parliament in Canberra. Besides Modi, China’s President Xi Jinping and Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron will also address federal Parliament.
From Brisbane, Mr. Modi will travel to the Australian capital Canberra to hold a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart Tony Abbott on November 18. Both the countries are expected to ink deals on several key areas like trade, investment and consolidate their strategic partnership.
The visit of PM Modi will provide a major improve to India-Australia ties in every way. India and Australia had signed a landmark civil nuclear cooperation agreement during Australian counterpart Tony Abbott's visit of India in September.
