Vadodara to get India’s Largest Flag - Biggest Tiranga of Size 90x60 Feet in Gujarat
India’s largest tiranga will be hoisted in Vadodara city. The contract for making 90x60 feet sized flag is given to Federation of Gujarat Industries by Vadodara Municipal Corporation. This is confirmed news given by Baroda Municipal Corporation. The estimated cost for making this tiranga is Rs 90 lacs.
presently the largest national flag is hoisted at Connaught place in New Delhi at the height of 72 metre pole. The flag in Baroda will be flying at the height of 76.2 metres. Flood lights will be put at the spot to make our national flag also visible at night hours. The generator system will also be there to make it possible. The maintenance of our tiranga and its pole will be handled by the FGI.
Nitesh Patel, Secretary General of FGI said,” the planning started for this when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister. It was decided to strengthen the city in terms of a tourism destination.”
Still the final location is not decided yet as it involves many aspects to look back where the flag mast. As per officials, whatever spot is finalized it will undergo trimming. FGI will follow the flag code of the Indian Constitution regarding hoisting it. The deadline for work completion is 26th January 2015, our country’s upcoming 65th republic day. |
