Gujarat Police to Get Helicopter for Air Surveillance
Gujarat State police is getting modernized day by day. The one more modern facility is added to the list of Gujarat Police. In very short time Gujarat police will have its own five seated helicopter for air surveillance. This latest facility contained helicopter will be used in sea area security and during Rathyatra and other occasions.
Director General of Police, P C Thakur said, “This helicopter will contain all latest devices like infrared camera and all. The state police is getting grant for police modernization from Central and State Government from which Rs 22 Cr are allotted for purchase of helicopter. Now the process of purchasing of helicopter is in action and soon will be completed.”
The Gujarat police also need to look after marine line security. In Sea area, up to 12 nautical mile distance the security and patrolling is the responsibility of Gujarat police. After police area completes, then up to 200 nautical mile long security responsibility of coast guard.
Gujarat police is also getting new 33 all weather boats for making strong the coastal security. Currently Gujarat is having 22 marine police stations with 30 boats for coast line security.
