Padma Award 2015 - Winners Name List (Padma Vibhushan - Padma Bhushan - Padma Shri)

Padma Awards 2015 are declared on the Republic Day 2015 in New Delhi where it was a proud moment for Gujaratis as this year 4 Gujarati Nominees won the India’s one of the highest civilian awards. These proud Gujaratis, LK Advani, Tarak Mehta, Dr. Tejas Patel, Shri Gunvant Shah and Dr. Hargovind Trivedi are the names of Padma award, as per a list announced Ministry of Home Affairs.

Dr. Hargovind Laxmishanker Trivedi – Medicine

Tarak Mehta is a famous writer in India. Dr Tejas Patel is a popular heart surgeon practicing in Ahmedabad and he has successfully completed around 75+ surgeries. Shri Gunvant Shah is given Padma Shri Award for his contribution in literature and education sector. Dr Hargovind Trivedi is well known kidney surgeon and awarded for his contribution in the medical field. All the Padma winners from Gujarat have won Padma Shri Award.

LK Advani has been introduced in the list as an awardee from Gujarat, however he is from Sindh and based in Delhi. He is elected as Lok Sabha MP from Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat. This year list of the 104 persons conferred Padma Awards. These include nine Padma Vibhushan, 20 Padma Bhushan and 75 Padma Shri awardees. 17 of the awardees are women and the list also includes 17 persons from the category of foreigners, NRIs, PIOs and 4 posthumous awardees.
