Surat Dream City & Diamond Bourse Foundation Ceremony by Gujarat CM on 14 February 2015
Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel laid the foundation stone for the Dream city and Diamond Bourse in Surat on 14 February 2015. Surat dream city and diamond bourse project will take place at Khajod in Surat.
Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel on 14 February 2015, Sunday laid the foundation stone for Diamond Research and Mercantile (DREAM) City, to be spread on an area of about 2,000 acres on the outskirts of the city. DREAM stands for Diamond Research and Mercantile.
The DREAM City will mainly house an international diamond trading hub, Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), to be spread on 579 acres of land. The twin ground-breaking ceremonies of the two projects took place on Sunday at Khajod.
The foundation event for Dream city and Diamond Bourse was attended by a number of dignitaries, including consulate generals and high commissioners of countries like South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Namibia, Canada, Russia, Australia, Botswana etc. Apart from them a number of top officials of the state government also remained present.
Anandiben Patel announced the government’s decision to give surplus government land in urban areas to different municipal corporations in the state to build houses for the urban poor. “The order will come shortly,” she said.
CM Anandiben Patel also visited the exhibition dome, where several real estate developers also had displayed their upcoming projects in the diamond city to visitors.
Dream city and Diamond Bourse project of Surat will bring Surat to the new height. |
