Cycle Sharing Project in Rajkot City Started by RMC on 19 April 2015
Rajkot Municipal Corporation - RMC has started Cycle Sharing project in the Rajkot city on 19th April 2015, Sunday. RMC has launched Cycle sharing project to make Rajkot city eco-friendly and pollution free. Minister of State for Science and Technology Mr. Govind Patel flagged off a cycle rally in Rajkot to indicate the launch of Cycle sharing project.
RMC has received 60 ranger cycles in donation from some private firms. As per details, Cycle Sharing Project in Rajkot will have 4 destination or cycle pick up points. At the launch event of Cycle sharing project, Rajkot city mayor Raksha Boliya, Rajkot municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra, and local leaders of BJP were present.

Central Bus Depot
Kishanpara Chowk
Indira Circle
Trikon Baug
RMC has located 4 control cabins in Rajkot city for cycle sharing project at Central Bus Depot, Kisanpara Chowk, Indira Circle and Trikon Baug. For the first month of Cycle Sharing Project launch time, RMC is giving Cycles for free for initial 2 hours and after 2 hours; there will be Rs 5 charge on per hour basis. After 1 month, there will be token charges.

For month after Project Launch – Cycle for 2 Hours : No charges
After 2 Hours : Rs 5 per Hour
After 1 Month of Project Launch : Token Charge

RMC have asked Rajkot city people to join hands with them and promote eco-friendly project for the city and make Rajkot city pollution free. The four places or control cabins for Cycle Sharing Projects which have been identified are strategic locations keeping in view of accessibility of the facility for people.
On 19th April 2015, it was World Cycle Day and on that day, RMC started their eco-friendly Cycle Sharing project in Rajkot city and one Cycle rally was organized from Kisanpara Chowk, Rajkot which was joined by enthusiastic Rajkot city people.
The world is worried about global warming as it is increasing day by day and we can see its effects. The environment balance has been disturbed. To diminish this, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed people to use bicycle once a week for travelling. It will improve our health, help protect environment and also reduce consumption of oil.
