Virchand Gandhi from Mahuva was possibly first official Gujarati youth to Visit USA in 1893 and was friend of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi. But Gujarati's don’t know about him. Govt. of India had issued postal stamp in honor of Virchand Gandhi.

Virchand Gandhi went to Chicago in year 1893 in First 'Vishwa Dharma Parishad'. He was representing Jain Dharma in this conference. In this Conference Virchand Gandhi was with Swami Vivekananda. He gave Speech about Jain Dharma because at that time Jain dharma was not extended much.
It would be great if government celebrates 2013 to 2014 years dedicated to two dynamic youth icons - Swami Vivekanandaji (2013), Virchand Gandhi (2014) on completion of their 150 years birth anniversary celebration.
