Gujarati Craftmanship at Lakme Fashion Week 2015 by Famous Lady Designer ANITA DONGRE
Gujarat is famous for the handicraft work. The Ahir, Maldhri and craftswomen do the work of the Handicraft, Embroidery work on the clothes. This work is handmade so it is very clear in design. The craftswomen of the Banaras Gujarat had made the work of the mirror and embroidery and the designer Anita Dongre had design the costume for the Dia Mirza and other collection of it.
These types of Crafts mostly originated from Kutch (Kutchh), located in Western Part of Gujarat India. Kutchi Hast Kala is very famous and lots of Hand Crafted Items of Kutchi People used to Export in Foreign Countries.
In Gujarat handmade works is done in large production because it very popular and known by the Guajarati people and tradition culture in history. The skills of the Ahir and Maldhri has make proud for the handcrafting. Handcrafting can be done on the paper, silk, titles, clothes, plant fiber etc. It is the skills of the Gujarati peoples.
Dia Mirza called best 26 Ahir, Maldhari, Bharwad, Rabari Dress women or Craftswomen on the stage for their work and all the peoples or guest stood up and gave respect for their skills.
Dia Mirza was the Show stopper at Lakme Fashion Week held in Mumbai. The Costume was design by Anita Dongre. The theme of the Lakme Fashion Week of the designer Anita Dongre was the Handicarfted Traditions of India of the Indian Culture. |
