The Greater Flamingo is a bird of Gujarat State. The greater flamingo is a spice of flamingo family. The Kutch Desert Sanctuary is famous for the Flamingo city in Bhuj, Gujarat. Flamingo city is situated in Rann.  It is a place where flamingo is seen daily in large number. The height of State bird of Gujarat flamingo is 110-160 cm and the weight is 2-4 kg. The color of flamingo is pinkish white, bill yellow, the tip of the beak is black, legs are pink, wings are red and feathers are black.

According to one survey the lifespan of flamingo is 20-60 years. State bird of Gujarat Flamingo mostly stays in the group only. Single bird stay quietly but when they are in group they chase each other, fights, protect their kid’s etc. Sometimes they get aggressive in the nature. They store more food and water in their bill and filter it. Flamingo travels and migrates in the short distance. 

Gujarat state bird Flamingo habits are very much selective. They need deep water, salty lagoons and sea. They did not like the noise at the time of breeding. In winter they migrate to the warmer place. Flamingo is a very noise bird. Their voice plays an important role to stay together. The young flamingos are grayish brown in color. The group of young flamingo is called creche. Their feather will grow in 10 weeks. The swallowed food is given to the chicks. Gujarat state bird Flamingo can easily swim and finds it food in the water. Their big necks help to find food in the deep water. It is a beautiful bird in the world
