The growl of sloth bears gives the chills and shrills, as you go near and near the Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctury. Located on Gujarat-Madhya Pradesh Border is an exclusive sanctuary for sloth bears in the state of Gujarat. The sanctuary is very close to some of the tribal districts of Vadodara city like Baria and Dahod. Hence, the nearby prominent city of Vadodara provides an easy juncture of travel through land, rail or air routes.

Ratanmahal sanctuary located in Dahod is widely spread over an area of 56 acres and the place is a prominent habitat of the very wild sloth bears, along with lush green forests and criss-cross hamlets on the foothills of the sanctuary created by river Panam. There is a dam and reservoir built at the river near the area, adding to the ecological importance of the area as well in terms of water conservation. The entire region enjoys pristine natural beauty with a huge variety of flora and fauna.
