Famous Kabirvad in Gujarat
A beautiful island of Kabirvad lays on the river Narmada some 16 kms from the ancient town of Bharuch. Bharuch has a history which dates back to at least 2000 years. The city thrives on heavy industrial production, most prominent being of textile with a continuous supply of staple cotton from the region.

Bharuch city has always been considered quite sacred by the sagas. It has been acclaimed to be one of the oldest sea ports known in the country, which prospered in the 1st century AD. The city got to be ruled by the Solanki Rajputs in the later years.
Bharuch is connected to major locations in the country by the nearest airport, which is in Vadodara city, which lies at a distance of 130 kms. Moreover, Bharuch lies on the Western Railway corridor of Indian Railways and is connected via rail routes.
Narmada Kabirvad
Kabirvad is amongst the many beautiful places to visit around Bharuch and is famous as the island of Banyan trees. In Hindusim, it is famous that a Banyan tree acts as a resting place for Lord Krishna. The major attraction of Kabirvad being a gigantic Banyan tree is said to be covering an area of around 3.5 acres. It is said that this is the place where the Hindu Saint Kabir Das used to practice meditation and that the tree grew from a meswak stick (which the saint used for brushing his teeth).
Kabirvad also holds significance because of the Lotus shaped marble temple, Kabir Museum and the boat ride in river Narmada.
