Padma Rani Passed Away on Monday, 25th January, 2016.
Gujarati actress and stage artist Padmarani passed away in Mumbai Wockhardt Hospital. She was 79 and was also her birthday. She was caused by viral fever in her lungs and now Gujarati actress Padmarani no more. She died on her Birthday only.
Veteran Gujarati Actress Padma Rani has done Gujarati films, Gujarati plays and some Bollywood films. Padmarani was Gujarati actress, stage artist and sister of popular actress, Sarita Joshi. Padmarani was born to a Marathi family in Pune and grown up in Vadodara Gujarat.
Veteran Gujarati Actress Padmarani has done about 6000 Gujarati Drama. Her some plays in which she was in a lead role are Baa A Maari Boundary, 5 Star Aunty, Kevda Na Dankh, Saptapadi, Baa Retire Thai Chhe, etc.
Dhollywood Actress Padmarani first film was Narsaiyyani Hundi (1961). Then she appeared in films like Narsaiyyani Hundi (1961), Asha Parekh starrer Akhand Saubhagyavati (1963), Kalapi (1966), opposite Sanjeev Kumar, on the life of the renowned Gujarati poet, Sursinhji Takhtasinhji Gohil, famous by his pen name Kalapi, Patli Parmar (1978) with Upendra Trivedi, Gangasati (1979), Lohini Sagaai (1980), Bhagat Peepaji (1980) based on the life of the famous mystic poet Bhagat Pipa are famous Gujarati movies of her.
Padmarani has also acted in Bollywood Hindi movies Parivar (1968), Veer Ghatotkach (1970), Jai Santoshi Maa (1975), Dil (1990) as mother to Aamir Khan’s character in the film, and Zaalim (1994).
