Vechaar Metal Utensils Museum - A Unique Experience
Vechaar Metal utensils museum was founded by renowned interior designer Surendra ,,j jl Patel in the year 1981. This museum is one of its kinds and houses a collection of utensils ranging from stainless steel, gourd jug, leaves and glass utensils. The unique utensils present in this museum make it distinct from any other museum present in the city and therefore attracts plenty of visitors.
The Vechaar Museum is located at Vishala pastoral restaurant and has the personal collection of Surendra Patel who collected copper, brass, bronze and zinc utensils of daily use to create this distinctive museum.
The Museum at Glance
Vechaar is the abbreviation of Vishala Environmental Centre of Heritage of Art, Architecture and Research. The Museum is made up of straws, mud, dung, bamboos and wood which give it a unique and antique look. The utensils and dishes used for daily usage are exhibited in the museum for all the days of the year till late night. The visitors may find up to 3500 utensils, 610 Sudis and 90 Ghartalas each having a distinct design. In the year 1986, the entire museum was taken to Russia for an exhibition which mesmerized several international visitors.
Being located in the Ahmedabad city, the Museum pulls tremendous crowd especially during the vacations. The uniqueness of the Museum not only attracts local but international tourists every year. Tourists willing to explore the museum can visit any day between 10am and 5pm. Visitors can carry cameras to capture the unique things present in the museum.
