Naina Devi temple in Nainital is placed on the northern shore of Naini lake. The presiding deity of the temple is Maa Naina Devi represented by two Netras or eyes. Near by Naina Devi Temple are the deities of Mata Kali and Lord Ganesha. Nainital is whispered to be one of the 64 Shaktipeeths, where one of the body parts of Goddess Sati fell, when Lord Shiva carried her body.
