World Forestry Day Date - World Forest Day 2013
The concept of World Forestry Day originated at the 23rd General Assembly of the European Confederation of Agriculture in 1971.
Later that year, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation gave support to the idea believing the event would contribute a great deal too public awareness of the importance of forests.

World Forestry Day is one of the world's leading global platforms for people with an interest in forests and climate change to share their views and work together to ensure forests are suitably integrated into any future climate change alleviation and adaption strategies.

Forests have been integral part of human life. The result of the loss of green canopy is obvious to all. It is to create awareness among people and to initiate steps to prevent this descending trend that is celebrated round the world as a World Forest Day.
