World famous Asiatic Lions in Gir forest population counting for year 2015 is completed recently and the final total numbers of Lions in Gir National forest will be declared by Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel on 10th May 2015. The final preparations and calculations are going on for total number of Asiatic lions in their natural living place, Gir forest. 

Presently Total Number of Lions in Gir are = 411  ( In Counting Year 2014 )

The No of Asiatic Lions in Gir habitat is dry scrub land and open deciduous forest. Number of Lions in Gir was once found across northern Africa, south west Asia and northern Greece. Now Total Number of Lions in Gir Forest are only around 411 left in the wild and all of Number of Lions in Gir are in or around the Gir Forest National Park. Even though the Gir Forest is well protected in Total Number of Lions in Gir, No of Asiatic Lions in Gir is instances of Total Number of Lions in Gir being poached.
