Kem Cho, Majama - Gujarati Tadka in Bollywood !
Bollywood film industry, like India is very diverse. It has never ignored any region of India, though it may have favoured few cultures more than it would like to accept. The first culture to be popularized by Bollywood was the balle balle Punjabi clan closely followed by the luckhnowi nawabs. It is only in the recent years that Bollywood started favoring Gujarati culture.
Movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam changed the nature of Indian cinema. There was a traditional shift from the very typical Malhotra, Kapoor and Khan parivar to Patel and Shah Parivar.
The movie brought about the beauty of the rich Gujrati culture by showcasing their colourful festivals, beautiful attire, interesting customs and most importantly their simplicity.
Next came, Kal Ho Na Ho which brought the much lighter and funnier side of their culture. We all remember the scene where Saif's parents and their extended Gujjus clan dance to the hilarious song G-U-J-J-U on Saif and Preity's engagement.

Next came, Guru which showed the high level of business skill and passion that Gujjus possess and then there was Chup Chup Ke which made us all laugh!
Here's what Akshay Kumar says about the Gujarati culture, "Gujarati essence, culture and people are an intrinsic part of my life now. My wife is (half) Gujarati, my production partner and good friend Paresh Rawal is a Gujarati and most importantly Gujarati characters are full of humor, they are colourful and give us a scope to try something different."
The culture gave us melodious yet catchy music. From beats like nimbooda nimbooda and Dholi Taro Dhol Baje from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam to G-U-J-J-U- from Kal Ho Na Ho.
