Chardham here means Uttarakhand Chardham and they are Shri Badrinath, Shri Kedarnath , Gangotri, Yamnotrl. Uttarakhand's Chardham are located In misty Himalayas of Uttaraanchal state of Bharat.
General: Uttrakhand Chardham is in Uttaranchal state of Bharat.According to 2001 Census the population is 84.80 Lacs and the literacy is 72.28%.Language spoken here are Garhwali,Hindi and English.Geographically Uttaranchal is 88% hills and 12% Plain surface. Hilly region is divide into two - Garhwal and Kumaon reglon.Chardham Is In Garhwal region.
PI Note: Chardham is also called "Dev Bhoomi" and it is Pure Religious place.Do not compare facilities with any other developed Hill station. Chardham is accessable from Haridwar and Haridwar is connected by all over Bharat by Railways and Road. Winters here in Chardham is severe. Best time to visit Chardham is April last week to October last week. Thereafter according to culture norms Darshan of Chardham remains close for six months.
Shri Badrinath: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu. the temple of Shri Badrinathji is five metres high. built in the form of a cone with a small cupola of a gilt bull and spire. The temple has three parts - Garbha Grih (The Sanctum Sanctorum), Darshan Mandap (for pujas) and Sabha Mandap (for devotees to assemble). Badrinath Guarded on either side by the two mountains Nar and Narayan, the Neelkanth Peak provides a splendid backdrop to Badrinath, one of the 'Four Dhams'. Mana Village Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet. At Mana we can visit Ganesh caves, Vyas caves and Bhimshila.
Shri Kedarnath: Lying at an altitude of 3584 mts on the head of river Mandakani, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the twelve jyotirlings and holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus. Lord Shiva gave darshan to all Pandvas on their journey of redemption of their guiltiness.
Gangotri: The shrine of Gangotri is situated at an elevation of 3048 mts. amidst captivating surroundings. Gangotri is located at an distance of 99 kms. from Uttarkashi. The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th century, is situated on the left bank of Bhagirathi.
Yamnotri: The shrine of Yamunotri, situated at an elevation of about 3,235 mts — where we can sought the blessing of Yamuna Maharani — a daughter of God Sun.
Haridwar: The name itself suggest that it is a gateway to Chardham — a favourite destination for pilgrims a city with river Ganges and several temples.Some are Har ki Pauri - King Vikramaditya constructed this sacred Ghat on the banks of holy river "Ganges" . Hrishikesh: Land of Rishi's (Saints and Sadhus) — famous for Laxman Jhula, ParmarthNiketan, and peaceful destination for Yoga lovers. Rafting is thrilling experience here.
Auli: A place with India's longest ropeway of 4.25 k.m — popular destination for national and international sking — also a view of range of Himalayas and Nandadevi mountain.
