Dussehra or Dashera is near about for celebration. Dusshra is celebrated on the 10th day of Navratri or say after completing 9 Navratri nights. Dussehra is a hindu festival that is celebrated for victory of Good over evil. Dussehra is also know as Vijayadashmi.
On this day lord Ram had got victory over Ravan and also Maa Durga had got victrory over daemon Mahishasur. This year Dussehra will be celebrated on 4th October,2014. Dussehra is very holy day for Hindus so many people are starting their new venture or journey or new project on Vijaya dashmi tithi in shubh muhurat. On this day, people are worshipping lord Ram and Maa Durga. In the evening The effigies of Ravana are burnt on the bonfires and then fireworks are burnt for celebration of good over evil. In our Gujarat, the people are used to have a sweets and especially Jalebi, fafda-gathiya for celebration.
