Bhai Dooj History
Fable says Yamraj; the God of Death visited his sister Yami on this particular day. She put the favorable Tilak on his forehead, decorated him and provide for him with particular dishes. Mutually, they ate the sweets, talked and enjoyed themselves to their sympathy content. While departure Yamraj gave her a particular gift as a token of his love and in return Yami also provide him a lovely gift which she had made with her possesses hands. That is why this day of Bhai beej is also known by the name of Yama Dwitiya.
Bhai Dooj Ki Kahaani
The ceremony on bhaidooj on that day sisters put Teeka on the forehead of their brothers. The Teeka is the consecrated mark for Hindus. The Teeka is made with vermilion, sandal paste, roli or kumkum. A Puja thali is prepared before the start of the ceremony. Using sandal wood paste, red vermilion or a roli, the Teeka is pinched and a few grains of rice are added. The Bhaiya sit on an Asana and the sister draws the Bhai Dooj Teeka on his forehead.
Bhai Dooj Pujan Vidhi Muhurat
Sisters pray for the interests of their brothers and perform Aarti on the day. Sisters prepare sweets and other favorite delicacies of their brothers and visit to each other on this festival. Those women who have no brothers suggest Puja to God Chandra the moon Lord. This is the second day of the bright fortnight or Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Kartika. There are four good Choghadiya Amrit, Shubh, Labh, and Chal to start favorable work and three bad choghadiya is rog, Kaal, Udveg should be avoided.
