History of Ahmedabad Bhadra Fort is very famous in Ahmedabad. Ruler Sultan Ahmed Shah laid the foundation of this city with the construction of this historical fort in 1411 AD. The entire of the old Ahmedabad city was within the vast deep red brickwork walls of this massive fort. Back then the Bhadra Fort is believed to have 14 minars 8 gates and 2 large openings and the total area of this fort was about 43 acres.

Bhadra Fort Ahmedabad housed royal palaces and the beautiful Nagina Baugh and the royal Ahmed Shah Mosque on the west side and an open area known as Maidan-Shah on the east side.
