The Royal Art Collection at Fateh Singh Museum
The city of Baroda was famously termed as “Sanskari Nagari” or the city of different cultures and traditions, predominantly acting as the cultural capital of the state of Gujarat. Fateh Singh Museum

Vadodara hosts many such palaces and Fateh Singh Museum is the museum built within the premises of Laxmi Vilas Palace of Maharaja Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Fateh Singh Museum, which was basically, used as a school premise for the Maharaja’s children exhibits royal artworks, collected by the Maharaja himself from India and abroad on his numerous trips.
The Art Collection
Along with housing, personal mementos of the Royal Family, the museum hosts major artwork by famous European and Indian artists and major collection of artwork by Raja Ravi Verma. This collection includes portraits of the Royal family and paintings based on Hindu Mythology as well, along with numerous sculptures made from marble and bronze. The Fateh Singh Museum also houses an oriental gallery having Japanese and Chinese sculptures.
The place is a true attraction with a unique art collection from around the world and because of it being situated within the premises of Laxmi Vilas Palace, with sprawling lawns and palatial beauty.
