Ladoo Eating Competition 2014 in Gujarat India - Ladu Eating Contest at Jamnagar
Ladoo is very popular sweet in Gujarat. Many youngsters don’t like it but Ladoo is very demanded sweet by our old aged people. Ladoo is a very common sweet especially for Saurashtra people. It is served during many functions. It is also called Lord Ganesha’s favorite food so on Ganesh Chaturthi, one different competition was organized in Gujarat. It was of Ladoo eating competition. There was a simple rule that the one, who eats more number of Ladoos, wins the contest.
This competition was held on 4 September, 2014. It was open for the whole Saurashtra region. There were total 110 participants, 103 of them males and 7 women. A 65 years-old Govindbhai Lunagaria ate 24 ladoos and became winner among 110 participants. Organizer had made approx. 710 ladoos. Each ladoo weighted 100 gm and made of dry fruits, ghee and wheat flour.
In women’s segment, Anuben Yadav from Rajkot became winner. She has eaten 10 ladoos. The participant, who can eat more number of ladoos in less time, becomes winner. This kind of competitions is held very rarely in our state. There are lots of Ladoo lovers. It is in very demand during Ganesh Utsav. There was no age bar for contestants. It is seen that the contestants of more than 50 years age have won competition more.
